Massage Therapy FAQ

Here at Lake Worth Chiropractic & Wellness we have assembled some of our most frequently asked questions.

How does Massage Therapy compliment chiropractic care?

Utilizing both massage therapy and chiropractic care in conjunction can enhance the benefits of both modalities. While chiropractic realigns the spine and joints, and manipulates hard tissues, massage therapy manipulates the soft tissues such as the muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments.

What types of massage is provided at Lake Worth Chiropractic & Wellness?

Here at Lake Worth Chiropractic & Wellness we provide specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient’s condition and injury.

How should I prepare for my massage?

Drink plenty of fluids before the massage. Inform your therapist of any conditions, surgeries, or injuries that may alter the manner in which the therapist proceeds with care.

Will I feel better right away?

Many massage patients will feel sore directly after the massage and possibly the next day. However, this should not last long and the relief will soon set in. It is important to continue hydrating after your massage in the days to follow to allow for the release of metabolic waste from your system.

Is massage for everyone?

Massage is one of the most effective treatments for relieving tension and chronic pain. Massage is often recommended as an added therapeutic modality, coupling with chiropractic, physical therapy, exercise, and much more. However, massage can be inappropriate or not recommended if you suffer from certain conditions. If you are unsure, consult with your physician first before scheduling an appointment.
