Elderly Chiropractic Care

Dr. Jack Cacic of Lake Worth Chiropractic & Wellness, is very proud to serve many of our senior citizens in South Florida. Although we help patients of all ages -- from infancy on up, seniors are quite a significant portion of our clients. As a result, senior care and elderly health and wellness are a big part of what we do here. There are a number of wonderful benefits that elderly chiropractic care has to offer. Both in times of illness and in times of wellness, there are compelling reasons to incorporate chiropractic treatment into an elderly health program.

Quality senior care is vitally important, especially since seniors will often experience more physical problems than their younger counterparts due to age. Seniors are, in some cases, more susceptible to injuries like a slip and fall, and they may be more likely to have chronic troubles like back pain. Seniors can actually do a lot to guard against slip and fall type injuries, and it is even possible to lessen chronic back pain and similar problems in your senior years.

A number of injuries such as, slip and fall are caused by balance and coordination issues associated with the degenerative changes that happen to the cervical spine as you age. The receptors in the neck area of the spine (the cervical spine) are responsible for giving your brain messages that regulate balance and limb coordination. Those receptors will begin to lose function with age, but chiropractic adjustments can restore this function. Regular adjustments to the cervical spine can make a world of difference in balance and coordination, preventing many potential injuries.

Another common problem of aging is spinal degeneration and other spine issues caused by arthritis. When spinal degeneration begins to happen, the spine will gradually develop into misalignment, causing increasing discomfort and pain. Chiropractic adjustments can be very helpful to senior citizens since spinal stress will be significantly reduced. Also, pain can be alleviated with a manual adjustment to bring the spine into proper alignment.

One of the benefits that our elderly chiropractic patients mention quite often is the improved feeling of well-being that they experience with regular chiropractic care. Patients often report that they can sleep better, have more energy, and feel more of a reason to start each day after they start regular chiropractic care. Patients say that being out of pain and being able to move around as freely as you did in the past will often automatically translate to an improved feeling of overall wellness.

We appreciate the fact that you have chosen Lake Worth Chiropractic & Wellness as your senior chiropractic care provider, and we look forward to working with you as you pursue optimum health into your senior years.
