Why Whiplash Is More than Standard Neck Pain

Lake Worth chiropractor whiplash neck pain

Dr. Jack Cacic knows that whiplash is more than just standard neck pain and why he and his experienced staff want to see you immediately following an auto accident. Whiplash occurs when the force of impact causes your neck to overrotate much faster than normal rotation. Your whiplash chiropractor understands that the effects of whiplash can be long-lasting and lead to chronic pain and other musculoskeletal issues when not treated properly.

How Our Whiplash Chiropractor Can Help You Heal From Injury

You may not be experiencing any pain following an auto accident, but if whiplash occurred, the pain may not set in for days following the accident. When soft tissues such as accessory ligaments, tendons, muscles and associated fascia over rotate, so do your vertebrae. Subluxed vertebrae of the neck if not properly realigned can cause chronic pain, headaches, and potential neurological concerns if nerves become pinched. Our caring whiplash chiropractor, Dr. Cacic wants to help you prevent this from taking place and why we encourage everyone to call us immediately following an accident.

At your visit, we will evaluate through questions and a physical examination. We will ask questions about the impact, if you experience sore muscles, or if you have developed other pain elsewhere in the body. After completing your examination, x-rays may be ordered, but generally, Dr. Cacic will provide your first chiropractic adjustment to begin relief care. We may suggest at-home exercises or ice to help complement your treatment between visits as well.

A lifetime of chronic pain can be avoided by visiting us to treat your whiplash. We suggest using hands-free cellphone calls during driving. We know fender benders can not always be prevented though and why we are serious about helping you heal if you are involved in an accident.
