Lake Worth Carpal Tunnel Eliminated with Our Chiropractic Clinic

woman_headaches_med.jpgCarpal Tunnel Syndrome, or CTS, is one of several pain issues our Lake Worth chiropractor, Dr. Cacic, treats on a routine basis. Chiropractic medicine is a non-invasive and drug free way to relieve pain from top down in the body, from headache, neck pain, back pain, sciatica and other pain in the limbs. This includes CTS.

How to Identify Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

This disorder is characterized by pain and weakness in the wrist. This pain and compromised strength are present because the median nerve is inflamed due to repetitive stress, an injury to the nerve, or underlying conditions such as diabetes. The "tunnel" that this nerve travels through is extremely narrow, so any swelling on the nerve will manifest as pain, numbness, tingling and weakness. This problem can be degenerative, getting progressively worse over time.

Consequently, it is imperative to identify this issue and get it diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible. How quickly it is diagnosed and treated can greatly affect the prognosis and how extensive the treatment will be.

How We Treat CTS at Our Lake Worth Clinic

Treatment for CTS usually begins with the most conservative measures. What this means in our case is that there will be an adjustment performed on your wrist first. If this does not correct the problem, then we will screen and make adjustments on your back or neck to identify the spinal subluxation that is giving you pain.

Once the cause of your pain is determined and treated, you will also be provided with a course of corrective and strengthening exercises for your wrist.  What these exercises are depends on whether your wrist alone is misaligned or if your spine is misaligned.

We may also recommend a course of ice pack treatments, massage therapy, wrist splints and other treatments designed to improve your body's ability to heal. Dr. Cacic does not believe in masking pain behind medications, he believes in changing lifestyle choices, managing nutrition and adding supplements to fuel and accelerate the healing process.
